We are looking for a highly motivated person to join our team to work in our cattery Saturday and Sunday. The position is part-time (11 hours per week) on a permanent basis and the start date is ASAP.

The person needs to be reliable and trustworthy. He/she will be required to have animal care experience and/or qualifications. Experience in working in a cattery or similar environment is an advantage, although training will be given. He/she will need to be flexible, and must be willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks as required. At times when the Owners are away he/she will be in charge of the cattery. This responsibility demands at least one years’ experience with looking after cats or other animals.

Due to the location of the cattery own transport is a MUST.

Normal hours are a split shift and will be from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and from 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm, Saturday and Sunday.

The duties will include:

Manning Reception

Greeting clients and their cats

Answering the telephone

Handling online bookings and enquires

Checking vaccination certificates

Bookkeeping using cattery PC software

Discharging clients and taking payments * Cleaning / preparing pens

Feeding the clients’ cats

Cuddling and grooming the cats

Following instructions left by the owner

Possible administering of medication

Occasionally you may be asked to help with the owners Norwegian Forest Cats including show preparation.

This job will suit someone who loves cats, and has experience in handling and looking after them.
